Ho avuto la grande fortuna di conoscere il professor Giampiero Maracchi, per molti di noi “semplicemente” il prof., nel 1998, quando, dopo aver sostenuto l’esame di Agrometeorologia e Climatologia da lui insegnata, mi propose di svolgere la tesi di laurea insieme a lui su un argomento a quel tempo innovativo e particolarmente interdisciplinare. Da quel momento ho iniziato un percorso altamente formativo dal punto di vista professionale e che mi ha portato a fare importanti esperienze in vari ambiti scientifici. Tra le attività di cui il prof. è stato promotore, quando era direttore dell’Istituto di Biometeorologia del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, c’è anche la creazione del Centro di Bioclimatologia (CIBIC) dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze. In questo ambito, il prof. è stato coinvolto in numerose attività scientifiche e progettuali che lo hanno visto sempre particolarmente attivo e che hanno portato alla pubblicazione, su prestigiose riviste internazionali, di numerosi articoli scientifici nel campo della biometeorologia. Purtroppo adesso al CIBIC, ma sicuramente anche a tutti coloro che hanno avuto la fortuna di collaborare con il prof., mancherà un riferimento fondamentale, ma personalmente sento ancor più forte il dovere di continuare a portare avanti ciò che il prof., col solito grande intuito, aveva avviato e sviluppato nel tempo. The activities of the Center of Bioclimatology (CIBIC). I was very lucky to meet Professor Giampiero Maracchi, for many of us “simply” the prof., when, in the year 1998, after the examination of Agrometeorology and Climatology taught by him, he proposed to me a thesis on an innovative and particularly interdisciplinary topic at that time. From that moment, I started a highly educational path from the professional point of view and that led me to make important experiences in various scientific fields. Among the activities in which the prof. was promoter, when he was director of the Institute of Biometeorology of the National Research Council, there is also the creation of the Center of Bioclimatology (CIBIC) of the University of Florence. In this context, the prof. was strongly involved in numerous scientific and project activities that led to the publication in prestigious international journals of numerous scientific articles in the field of biometeorology. Unfortunately, now for the CIBIC, but certainly also for all those who have had the opportunity to collaborate with the prof., a fundamental representative will be missing. However, I feel even stronger the duty to continue to carry forward what the prof. had started and developed over time, thanks to his great intuition. Thank you prof. ... thank you for everything!
